Your Style Your Way. Part 2

Do you need to decorate a house? Study the decorating books and the style magazines and you may come close to a fit, but you are unique to every other woman on earth. My favorite decorating book “gave me permission” to think what I thought. It affirmed every woman when it said, “Your favorite colors and style are as good as any professional decorator.” I took it from there.

Learn to trust your instincts, your personal wisdom. Even spiritual acuity can go into decorating. I have two favorite wall hangings: one is parchment with an Old English chapter of the Bible, framed in front of a large, brown paper bag in a gold antique frame. The other is a quote, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” and carved out of dark teakwood.(Psa 118:24) Eric and I say this verse to each other as soon as we wake every morning.

You, being a unique, individual creation of God, have a special style too. Read books that will help you to discover just enough develop it. Learn a little about fabrics, colors and furniture and art. Some suggest you should contrast the art with the room decor, others that it’s best to blend the colors. Your style is what matters.

Are you reading the Bible every day? Believe me or not. As you grow closer to the Lord, you grow in your personal style: spirit, soul and body.

It’s alright to be opinionated.
