You know that sudden fury and rage? It comes from nowhere it seems. A misunderstanding between you and your husband feels like a storm, black clouds and all.
He appears to be stubborn. He concludes something other than what you meant or said. Just for a minute, it feels like he is an enemy. But something else is happening. There is a reason for the sudden “storm”. Your marriage is more important than you realize. You have an unseen foe; he is against you, against your happiness, against your marriage. Real as you are standing there, “your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour.” (I Peter 5).
But you have power on your side. “For I the LORD your God will hold your hand, saying to you, Fear not; I will help you.” (Isaiah 41).
When you married, you two became one — and that is the very reason your marriage is sometimes so hard. Remember that God is for you: he is on your side. He will send help; you will know when peace returns to your heart.
Here is your job in the middle of the storm: “Call unto me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you know not.” (Jeremiah 33).
All of the Real Power is on your side.
