Philosophies, (all claiming to be right) about how you should live as a woman range from rank godlessness (check out the damage in their lives) . . . to such control over you that the only way out is to run away and hide.
Check every message from every source. Compare it with the Bible for yourself. If it claims to be Biblical, there will be more than one passage to guide you; in fact important themes in the Bible repeat in more than one place. Hunt for verses from the Bible and compare them one with another. Stack them up in your mind.
An example is Proverbs 14:1 and Proverbs 31. After a simple read through go to passages in the New Testament about women and compare them. Read closely verses that talk about women or topics that refer to women. What do you think the Bible is saying about them, either directly or by inference?
Look at her freedom, independence and opportunity.
Assuming this vital habit will safeguard you from walking down a dark path. Compare one passage on the subject you want to understand with others on the same or similar topic. A Strong’s Concordance is my source for finding verses. I also use e-Sword (www.e-sword.net), valuable free software. If what someone teaches you is true, the Bible will verify it for you. You will know what to believe as you “search the Scriptures daily”, like the Bereans: “These (the Bereans) were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. ” (Acts 17:11)
