Today, I participated in the Orientation for Ms. Florida Senior America Pageant. Women sixty years and older compete in four categories that emphasizes inner beauty, dignity and maturity. I saw courage and grace and vision today as I studied each of their faces and listened to the short story of their lives.

Two weeks ago, Eric and I watched a Netflix Video with a segment about Ms. Florida Senior . . . I thought, “How fun.” Eric said from the other side of the room, “You should do that.”

His challenge bounced around in my head for several days. When I Blogged last time ideas of what to do with my life, how to grow were beginning to surface. As I pondered, thoughts like, “Why not!” “You love to do this!” “You have experience.” “Who knows, maybe you will help others to step up.”

Today, I joined thirty women to look into this opportunity; they were amazing and inspiring, every one of them lovely; their abilities all unique. They were “down to earth” and friendly. Just being with them for two hours has given me a sense of its value because I will learn and grow.

I’ve told you often that I believe in you and your unique significance as a female created in the image of God. You are gifted. Are you growing to be the woman you desire to be? You can. The courage, wisdom, support and confidence can all be there. God created you for this. Now is the time.
