We girls often have serious doubts about ourselves (I do), serious fears that threaten our peace (I do), past failures we cannot change (I do). But the regrets, hurts and sadness can all work together for your good creating your best future. Develop knowledge of God as Savior and Lord of your life; it keeps you moving ahead.
I work in a store that is teaching me skills that seem to be absent from my character and personality. Not only are the skills missing, I seem to live in another dimension. In the break room yesterday, I said to one girl who is good at this work, so smooth and confident, “I don’t know if I’ll make it!” Her immediate response was, “Just keep going.” Then she told me she felt the same way only a year ago.
I’ve thought about her reply these few hours since; it was what I needed to know.
Here is encouragement to you: Just keep going. Do the next thing: tell the LORD, “Yes” and then do as he commands. Love Him by obeying Him: “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not burdensome.” John 5:3
What can I say about this topic, so profound that it is personal to the last degree – between God and you! Passion is a feeling, it is knowledge, it is a preoccupation, and it keeps coming up in your head and heart unbidden. This is the love for God that you enter into when somehow you decide that your Redeemer God, Jesus Christ is worth everything. He will always do as He said he would; all His promises in the Bible somehow will apply to you . . . small and insignificant as you feel you are.
Passion for God will become an exciting adventure . . . the reason? You are the “apple of his eye” as you fall into step with the God of the Universe. God sees you; He notices your heart and attitude. “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” 2Chronicles 16:9
Seeking for God with your whole heart, getting to know God in the Bible, breathing prayer ceaselessly throughout your day is a life that will be filled with hope. Sure, the down times will come, but your passion surfaces again and again . . . you grow to love God more and more. You are in touch with your Creator. His Word, the Bible, says that he “will never leave you nor forsake you”. You have one life to “invest” and it is your option to walk with God through the whole of it. “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not for God took him. “ Literally and figuratively he walked with God; I will do the same. Genesis 5:24
What is sad is to walk away from the God Enoch walked with, and who will walk with you . . . He is the source of inspiration and hope and a bright future. Growing passion for God comes from profound conviction; conviction surfaces as you experience God. “Prove me,” in Malachi, the last book in the Old Testament He challenges you and me.
